Shirley Updyke - Program Director

BACKGROUND: Mother of 5 children, 4 sons and 1 daughter. Served as newspaper publisher/editor for many years; have 11 wonderful grandchildren, and a great husband.

SALVATION: I accepted Christ at age 10 at a neighborhood Bible Club and remember the teacher as a godly person I wished to imitate. My childhood church, Folsom Presbyterian, was instrumental in my spiritual growth through Sunday School and terrific summer Bible Schools. Since my day of salvation I've felt God's presence and guidance and I am thankful to Him for His love to me.

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSE: .... live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of the God. Col. 1:10.

FAVORITE FOOD: Fresh fruit.

FAVORITE DESSERT: Strawberry jam on homemade bread.

HOBBY: I love to read Christian books, enjoy snorkeling and exercise: also flower gardening.

OTHER: I count it a great privilege to serve God in Christian radio and WRGN's lending library.
