New Music Report – December 2024

It’s officially Christmas time at WIVH, and there’s plenty of new Christmas music you’ll be hearing this month as you tune in.

My favorite new Christmas music in recent years has come from Phil Wickham. His latest addition “Angels (Glory To God)” is no exception. This fresh and upbeat take on “Angels We Have Heard On High” is sure to become one of your new favorites as well.

“Holy Forever” was the Dove Award winner this past October for Song of the Year. Now, Chris Tomlin has given it a Christmas treatment. While some of the lyrics have been changed, the message remains the same. Whether the baby in the manger, or the victor over sin and death…our God is holy forever.

Christmas is chock full of tunes we call “classic.” Keep your ears open this season for Francesca Battistelli’s “Sleigh Ride” and be transported back to the 1950s. Also, listen as Michael W. Smith and Rebecca Hart pair up for the timeless “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”
