New Music Report – November 2026
Last month, the 57th GMA Dove Awards were held in Nashville, TN, and this month, we’re going to look at some of the award winners and the music they bring to WIVH.
We’ll start things off by looking at the winner of Worship Song of the Year. “God, I’m Just Grateful” by Chandler Moore took this category over fellow nominees Hope Darst, Phil Wickham, CeCe Winans, and Chris Tomlin. This song is currently in the top 10 on 20 The Countdown Magazine, heard Saturdays at 12 pm on WIVH.
The Song of the Year category was full of, well…great songs that made it a difficult choice. When the dust settled (no pun intended), Josiah Queen’s “Dusty Bibles” took the honors, and it should be no surprise that it also won for Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year.
Artist of the Year…Who would it be? CeCe, Brandon, Josiah, Lauren or Phil? While they’re all deserving nominees, only one can win, and it was…Phil Wickham! Phil walked away with three Dove Awards, actually. Also winning the Worship Album of the Year (Song Of The Saints), and Children’s Recorded Song of the Year (“Follow The Light”).
Jamie MacDonald was named New Artist of the Year. Thanks to her songs “Desperate” and “Left It In The River,” she now has a Dove Award to put on the shelf. Keep your ears open for her latest single “A Million Chances.”
Jeremy Camp might not have seen it coming, but he won Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for his song “No Survivors.” The version that won, features Skillet, and while we don’t play that version on WIVH, you can check it out on YouTube.
