From Us to You – August 2025
We have probably all heard some version of the humorous story of the guy who gets a tattoo that says “No Regerts.” While this guy may try to downplay the spelling error, it’s likely he has indeed had some regrets, the tattoo being one of them! We all have them, things we wish we had done differently, decisions we made that had a domino effect…an effect that may have lasted a long time. In fact, you may still be paying for a mistake you made years ago.
Thankfully, we have a promise from scripture in Psalm 103:12 that “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” While in some ways, we may still be living out the results of our bad decisions, we can know that our heavenly Father has indeed forgiven us.
One of the many things I hear on WIVH that encourages me are the songs that remind me of the faithfulness of God’s forgiveness. Many times our hearts can continue to condemn us for things that God has forgiven, often because we are still living with the results of what we have done. Big or small, the regrets of past mistakes can continue to haunt us, no matter how hard we try.
If you are struggling with this, I would encourage you to re-read Romans 8:1 today “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” I would also encourage you to make a steady diet of Christian radio. Both the music and messages will help keep the focus where it needs to be—the redemptive work of Christ!
Giving our “regerts” to God,
Tim Madeir
