November 2, 2020
As I write this, the last of the leaves are clinging to the trees and the final votes have not yet been cast in the presidential election. Hopefully, by the time you read this, we will know who it is that will be guiding our country through the next four years.
It has been an interesting election season, and an interesting year, to say the least. As we round out the year, I for one, hope to see politics put aside and our leaders put their best foot forward for the sake of individuals, our country, and the world. I am hopeful that those of us who put our faith in trust in God will lead the way!
As we begin the month of November, when you think about it, we have much to be thankful for. Though some of us have lost ones we love to COVID-19, the overall numbers are nowhere near the 2 million Americans initially projected to lose their lives to this virus. Again, for those of us who put our trust in God, we can be comforted by the words of Hebrews 11:16 that remind us “But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.” The reminder of the fact that this life is fleeting should cause us to redouble our efforts to fulfill our calling–sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
We are blessed to do that everyday here at WIVH, and we hope that you will use the ministry here as just one tool of many that God has given us to share our faith with a world that is searching for hope. With some churches still not meeting in person, you may not be able to invite someone to your church, but you can certainly invite them to listen to the Voice of Hope for the Virgin Islands!
Desiring a better country,
