Can I ask for a favor? Will you pray for your pastor today? “Of course,” you say! “Why?” Because, believe it or not, he is facing one of the most difficult decisions of his ministry right now. The pressure is on to get it right.
As things begin to reopen across the world, pastors are trying to figure out the best way to bring the body of Christ back together in their buildings. Yes, we know the churches have not closed, they’ve just moved to different methods of ministry during this time. On the other hand, as we reopen the buildings, there are a host of decisions to be made and just as many differing opinions on what these decisions should be.
I speak with many pastors on a regular basis, and no matter how confident your pastor seems in his decisions, there are still questions in the back of his mind as to whether he’s doing it the right way. This is why he needs your prayer, as well as your grace and support–whether you agree with him or not!
While you’re at it, pray for our local and federal leaders as well! Paul urges us to in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, and their decisions are difficult as well, and they probably face a significant amount of opposition and criticism. They know that every decision they make will not be popular with about half of the population!
Finally, pray for us here at WIVH as we continue to share hope here in the Virgin Islands! 1 Timothy 2 goes on to say in verses 3-4 that “This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.” That’s why we do what we do here!
Praying with you,
