From Us to You – July 2026

Waiting is hard! When the WIVH transmitter went down on May 8, and the backup transmitter would not turn on, it was frustrating. However, we quickly shipped the transmitter out for repair and within a week it had arrived in Washington state. Then we received the bad news from the technician that the parts they needed for repair had to be shipped…another week of waiting.

When I finally received the call that they began the 48-hour “testing” process after the repair was made, my spirits began to rise. I was anticipating that WIVH would be back on the air within the week. “We are shipping the repaired transmitter out tomorrow,” the tech said. Then I received the tracking number…it showed the transmitter should be back on island June 27th. That was still two weeks away! My frustration began to build again. How could it take less than a week to travel from St. Croix to Washington state, and more than two weeks to come back?!?

Through it all, thanks to some of you, I was learning a lesson in patience, encouragement, and joy in the waiting. I would get texts, emails, or Facebook messages from listeners like you. Reminders like “God is in control” or “We’re praying for you.” Thank you so much for those reminders, as well as your faithfulness during this past month.

The waiting is finally over, and as of the evening of July 1, we are back on the air! The air conditioning unit that failed and led to the transmitter failure has also been replaced by the tower company that we rent space from with dual AC units. Our new transmitter is also on order, and the freshly repaired transmitter will become our backup as soon as the new one arrives.
